Oh, the irony!
Life full of sadness,
Still filled with gladness
Such an absurdity.
A day filled with darkness,
Another full of radiance.
Despite it all, the human strives.
Though good and bad.
The human condition is funny,
A day can be both gloomy,
As well bloomy.
Ponder on such!
While one face hell on Earth,
There can be gained a heaven as well.
I suppose--perhaps all is swell.
Doesn't that make life stale.
Heaven and Hell, opposing forces.
Water and Fire, cannot extinguish another.
One must prevail, one never fail.
Which is greater, of heaven, of hell?
Heaven? As hope shines brighter than any,
As faith pushes us on the daily.
Hell? Despair has crept in all too many.
Depression attacks us relentlessly.
Is it the nature which decides the victor?
For fire is always extinguished by water.
Or does the human have a part to play,
For, perhaps, he's in control of his to-day.
As some say:
"The mind is its own place,
And in itself can make a heaven of hell,
Or a hell of heaven." --John Milton
Therefore, that must be the truth.
The mind is powerful and potent.
The belief becomes reality,
Therefore, protect it and guard it.
The thoughts are antagonizing.
Pricking every fabric of a man's existence
He is tossed here and there.
In the past-present, present, and present-future.
Though heaven is one step away.
Hell remains a stone throw away.
Yet hilarious it is, for in this life.
Hell's gravity is difficult to resist.
Therefore, my friend, fight all you can today--
Take rest, rise up, for it continues another day.
Fret not, do not dismay!
For a piece of heaven is more than any time spent in hell.
