Strings

Writer's picture: Clifton DavidClifton David

A tug, a strum, a thump *!*

The heart alight, the body ablaze.

Illuminated soul, Brazier aflame.

OH! The heavenly strings strum.

Over yonder, cometh they now, and then, and will...

NO, all around, up and under; transcendent.

From whence does it come?

It enters through the ears, reverberates through the being.

Each and every single note felt,

E, F, G, B, F, G...and again, and again.

A world detached from the physical,

Purely experienced.... senses.

Drunk yet with no wine,

The tune of the gods!

Contortion of the human instrument,

A leg, an arm, the face--all become one.

Left, right, center, left,

SILENCIO!

𝄽 𝄽 𝄽 𝄽 𝄽 𝄽 𝄽 𝄽 𝄽 𝄽 𝄽 𝄽

And again, never ending symphony.

Savory the harmony,

Forever I plead, encore et encore.

A feast of melodies,

A tune infinite--forever on repeat.

Join me,

Just listen,

....|
